Spanish Maritime Law Association: Meeting in Bilbao (2)
As evidenced through this link, https://www.aedm.es/es/jornada-aedm-bilbao the Spanish Maritime Law Association organised a one-day meeting in Bilbao, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation in such a relevant maritime city in Spain.
Our association organizes its annual Congress at Madrid and one meeting in one of the most important maritime cities of Spain (such as Barcelona, Malaga, Palma, La Corunna, etc.) as well as webinars on different topics. The aim is to share ideas with the local maritime communities of all subsectors of the maritime and blue economy. Thus, the meeting was opened by the Director of Ports and Maritime Affairs of the Basque Government, the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Bilbao, the Maritime Master of Bilbao and our President, Mr. Carlos López Quiroga. Round tables on maritime labour and manning contracts, legal and practical problems of port handling operations, new marine energies, green port and decarbonization were moderated, respectively, by Mr. Mikel Garteiz-Gozeaskoa (Aiyón), Borja Llona (Albors Galiano Portales), Luis Gabiola (Zamorano & Peleteiro) mixing local and national speakers.
Last but not least, Mr. Víctor Jiménez, present Chairman of the IMO’s General Assembly spoke about decarbonization and other on-going actions, after which he and our General Director of the Merchant Marine (DGMM), Mr. Benito Nuñez closed the interesting debate in an interesting and friendly dialogue between them.
