Awarding of Titulary Membership – Gothenburg CMI Colloquium
We are delighted to announce that, upon the proposal of the Irish Maritime Law Association (‘IMLA’), Dr. Vincent Power SC and Mr. John Wilde-Crosbie BL have been conferred with Titulary Membership of the CMI during the recent General Assembly in Gothenburg.
Titulary Membership is an honorary title awarded in recognition of the candidates’ contributions to the work of the CMI and their services in maritime affairs, furthering the unification of maritime law.
Dr. Power’s involvement with the Irish Maritime Law Association, European Maritime Law Organisation (which he chairs), and Comité Maritime International wherein he serves as the CMI EU Rapporteur, delivered numerous papers and was also awarded the prestigious Albert Lilar Prize for the best shipping law book worldwide, make him highly deserving of this honour.
Similarly, Mr. Wilde-Crosbie’s contributions include his active role in the IMLA, publications in international journals on maritime topics, and significant contributions to Comité Maritime International through responses to CMI questionnaires on behalf of IMLA. His recognition as one of Ireland’s most experienced maritime lawyers further underscores his merit for this title.
Congratulations to both distinguished members on this well-deserved recognition!
