IMO International Day for Women in Maritime – 18 May 2025
The International Day for Women in Maritime coincided with the conclusion of the CMI Tokyo Conference, marking a timely occasion to celebrate the vital role of women in the maritime sector.
Throughout the conference, we experienced a rich and intellectually stimulating programme addressing the current global challenges in maritime law and exploring pathways toward greater unification of international maritime legislation. Women leaders were prominently engaged across the entire event, reflecting their integral contribution to shaping the maritime legal landscape.
Female leadership within the Comité Maritime International and national maritime law associations has been a steadfast and inspiring presence for many years, producing valuable advances for the sector.
On behalf of the CMI family, we extend our warmest wishes to maritime women worldwide, sharing a special photo taken during the conference just before the General Assembly to honour their ongoing dedication and impact.
