Italy MLA – 2025 Assembly and Seminar on the 1989 Salvage Convention
The Italian MLA Assembly is to be held in Genoa the 27 June 2025. It will be followed by a Seminar on the 1989 Salvage Convention to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its ratification by Italy, which took place the 12 April 1995.
Notably, Italy was the 15th State to ratify the Convention, which therefore entered into force concurrently with its entry into force in Italy.
The Seminar, introduced by President Giorgio Berlingieri, will feature presentations on the history of the Convention, the danger and the other criteria for fixing the reward, the duty to pay the reward among the salved interests, the LOF 2024, the entitlement of the crew to the reward, salvage of persons, apportionment between salvors and salvage in the MASS perspective.
