South Korean Maritime Law Association Fall Seminar – 9 November 2023

The Association’s 2023 Fall Seminar was held on 9 November 2023. This year’s topic was “Legal Issues relating to Shipping Companies’ Business Aspects” and total 46 attendees participated in the off-line event which was held in a beautiful campus of Duksung Women’s University, Seoul.

There were three sub-topics which were, first, “Legal Issue relating to the Shipowners’ Business Expansion to Total Logistic Solution Providers” presented by Mr. J.D. Lee, second, “The Validity of Ipso Facto Clause in Insolvency” presented by S.H. Jang and as the final, “Offshore Wind Power Business and its Legal Issues” presented by J.H. Kim.

This was a great opportunity to cover various issues ongoing in the markets in South Korea and contributed to the improvement of the legal understanding of the people in the market. Participants are from various sectors of the market such as lawyers, academics, in-house managers of shipping companies, insurance brokers.
