CMI – Comité Maritime International in Antigua & Barbuda – Part II
The Admiral Lord Nelson Ballroom at Sandals Grand Antigua served as the venue for an International Maritime Law Lecture on the Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships, delivered by CMI President Ann Fenech.
The event was a highly publicised event organised by the Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping (ADOMS) and the Centre of Excellence for Oceanography and the Blue Economy – the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.
Antigua & Barbuda have already signed the Convention; however, there is heightened interest in its ratification, as well as significant demand for further knowledge on its details, as evidenced by the attendance of over 100 participants at the Lecture.
The event was attended by members of the Supreme Court, maritime lawyers, maritime service providers, members of the maritime administration and academics. It was held under the patronage of the Governor General of Antigua & Barbuda, His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams.
