Liability of Classification Societies
Profile
The initiative to re-examine the liability of classification societies and the limitation of that liability, derives from an appeal made at the Hamburg Conference of the CMI in 2014 by the CMI Secretary-General (at that time), John Hare. Considerable support was voiced, hence the decision to put the class liability back onto the work programme of the CMI.
